Mold, discomfort, and indoor air-quality issues can be traced directly to your home’s crawl space. Moisture vapor, standing water and high humidity create a serious risk to your health and the home’s structural integrity as well.
Crawlspace Encapsulation is the process of installing a vapor barrier to completely cover the dirt floor and foundation walls below your home. In some cases, we may even "encapsulate" your floor-joists and subfloor with Closed Cell Spray Foam Insulation - but that is usually for homes in flood zones or on pilings. This work creates a moisture and vapor barrier that prevents dampness, mold and pests. In an encapsulated crawlspace, the insulation is installed in the floor-joists.
Crawlspace Conditioning: The vapor barrier is in the same location, but no more insulation over your head! When we condition that space, we apply Closed Cell Spray Foam to the foundation wall and rim-joist. Conditioning the space is usually the most efficient, comfortable and healthy solution for your home.
